Kindergarten Summer Camps in Huntersville
Is your child getting ready for Kindergarten? At Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville, our summer camps for rising Kindergarteners (ages 5-6) are the perfect way to build the confidence and skills they need for the big year ahead.
More structured than preschool but still packed with play, our Kindergarten camps focus on following multi-step instructions, collaborating with friends, and asking big questions. Whether they are building with LEGO® bricks, cooking a healthy snack, or blasting off to space, campers are learning to think like scientists and work like a team.

Why Kindergarten Camp Matters
School Readiness
Our camps reinforce the social and emotional skills needed for Kindergarten, such as raising hands, taking turns, and transitioning between activities.
“I CAN” Confidence
We believe in the power of “I CAN.” When a camper successfully builds a tower or mixes a recipe, they internalize the belief that they can solve problems and create things, a mindset that serves them well in school.
Full-Day Engagement
Our camps run 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, giving children the stamina they will need for full-day school while providing parents with reliable, high-quality childcare.
Frequently Asked Questions (Kindergarten)
Q: Does my child need to be reading?
A: No! Our activities are designed for pre-readers and early readers. We use visual aids, storytelling, and hands-on demonstrations to ensure everyone can follow along.
Q: Are there outdoor activities?
A: Yes, weather permitting, we utilize local green spaces and outdoor areas for active play to get the “wiggles” out.
Q: What is the camper-to-staff ratio?
A: We maintain a low ratio (typically 1:8 or better for this age group) to ensure every child gets the support and supervision they need.
