We’ve crafted our Early Childhood Classes with your little explorers in mind. Through inquiry-based learning, we spark their curiosity and build foundational STEM literacy skills. Our field trip curriculum is aligned with both North and South Carolina state standards and Next Generation Science Standards. This means we’re not just providing great field trips for young kids—we’re ensuring your students are getting a top-notch education.

Our Huntersville Children’s Museum team believes in the power of ‘learning by doing.’ We encourage your students to explore their world, test new ideas and develop both fine and large motor skills. Immerse children in the world of coding. Play interactive games and solve puzzles to unlock coding basics like sequencing, loops, and decomposition. Forecasting the Weather

Passport To Play

How do children around the world play? Children will use their imaginations to travel the globe and play games from other countries while collecting stamps on their passports. They will then compare and contrast those games with games common in the United States.

Cosmic Adventures

Blast off with us on an exhilarating lunar adventure! Our tiny astronauts will explore the Moon, delving into its mysterious phases and astounding crater formations. Wave Explorations

Prepare to explore the incredible world of waves. Conduct experiments with various vibrating and visual materials and manipulate light, pitch, and volume. Your student scientists will measure and modify sound and light waves to display their dynamic nature.
Rocks Rock

Explore the origins and formation of rocks and minerals. Students will crack geodes, seek treasures through rock panning, and observe the hidden properties of newfound

Enjoy the Perfect Picnic
Although the Museum doesn’t have any dining options, you can enjoy a delightful picnic at the covered shelters at nearby North Mecklenburg Park or Huntersville Athletic Park. We recommend making a reservation to ensure a spot.

Frequently Asked Questions
To qualify for our subsidized field trip pricing, you must be in a state-certified Pre-K thru 12 school with a minimum of 15 students.
Buses should enter via Old Statesville Rd and unload students by the Learning Garden. After your field trip, buses will pick up students at the rear of the Museum and exit via Gilead Rd. Due to height restrictions, parking is unavailable on-site in our parking deck.However, buses can park for free at Veterans Park or North Mecklenburg Park.
One adult chaperone is required for every 5 students and admitted to the Museum for free. Additional chaperones will be charged the fees notated in the chart above. To ensure the safety of all students, chaperones must stay with their group at all times.
Due to space limitations, extra chaperones may be unable to attend class programs. In order to provide a safe environment, we will be forced to turn away groups who do not have the required chaperone-to-student ratio.
Buses should enter from the Old Statesville Road entrance and pull into the loading zone area adjacent to the building to unload students.
Buses can park, for free, at North Mecklenburg Park or Veterans Park (any lot, any space and only a 5-minute drive from the Museum).
Cars and other standard-size vehicles can park, for free, in the Huntersville Parking Deck (located directly behind the Museum, also accessible from either Gilead Rd. or Old Statesville Rd.)
Cancellation notice of three weeks is required for a full refund. Cancellations with less than three weeks’ notice are non-refundable but may be rescheduled for a visit within a 12-month period. There is no fee for rescheduling as long as the class or visit is rescheduled within one week of the cancellation date and the visit is completed within the 12 months of the originally scheduled date.
Changes to the number of attendees must be made three days prior to the program or visit to receive a refund.
No refunds will be issued the day of the visit, and no refunds will be issued for amounts of $10.00 or less.
