Get ready to make a splash at Discovery Place Kids!

This month, we are learning all about the ocean. We will explore the ocean and learn about life under the Sea through activities. Join us for our favorite ocean-related stories, songs, art and activities.

Join us daily for fun-themed activities throughout the week and all month long. Stop by the Town Hall Main Stage at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to enjoy the fun!

July 2–7 – Sea Animals: Dive underwater to learn about sea life. Join us at the Town Hall Main Stage to hear “In the Sea” by David Elliot. We’ll then head to I CAN Create to participate in activities to learn about where sea animals live and practice our gross motor skills with shark toss.

July 9–14 – Sea Turtles: Join us at the Town Hall Main Stage to hear “Tammy Turtle, A Tale of Saving Sea Turtle” by Suzanne Tate. We’ll then head to I CAN Create to participate in activities that will help us learn about these unique creatures and the turtle life cycle and help them get to the ocean after hatching.

July 16–21 – Coral: Did you know corals are not plants but animals? They attach themselves to rocks and attract many animals and tropical fish. Join us at the Town Hall main Stage to hear the story “Explore My World: Coral Reefs” by Jill Esbaum. After the story, you will learn about different types of coral and build your model of a coral reef.

July 23–28- Oceanographer: What is it like to be an oceanographer? For an oceanographer, see what it looks like under the Sea. Join us at the Town Hall main stage to hear “Baby Oceanographer” by Dr. Laura Gehl. Then we’ll head to I CAN Create to see if you have what it takes to be an oceanographer.
