Meet Santa Claus & Queen Elsa at One Spectacular Holiday Event!

Join us for a magical day of science, holiday fun, and seasonal surprises at Discovery Place Kids! Children and families will enjoy a blend of science experiments, festive crafts and holiday-themed activities, with special appearances by Santa and Elsa throughout the day. The Museum will transform into a winter wonderland where learning through play meets the joy of the holiday season.

Step Into Santa’s Science Lab!

Journey to the North Pole’s most exciting workshop, where Santa combines holiday cheer with fascinating science! Throughout the event, Santa will be making appearances as he roams the Museum.

Your littles will learn how Christmas magic and chemistry work together:

  • Mix up holiday magic in Santa’s special Science Lab
  • Discover the states of matter with snow-making powder & ice crystals
  • Share holiday wishes and take memorable photos

Event Schedule: 

9:30 a.m. – Doors Open
Guests are welcomed into the Museum with holiday music and a festive atmosphere. 

Winter Science Show
Join us for a frosty science demonstration exploring the magic of ice and snow! Children will learn about states of matter through experiments with dry ice, snow-making powder and ice crystals. 

Holiday Corner
Children can create their own holiday ornaments and snowflake crafts to take home as keepsakes. 

Cookie Decorating Workshop
Get into the holiday spirit by decorating cookies with seasonal sprinkles, icing and candy! Each child gets a cookie to take home (or enjoy at the Museum). 

Frozen Fun with Elsa
Elsa returns for a sing-along session featuring her most popular songs. After the performance, children can participate in an “ice cube tower” building challenge to reinforce simple engineering concepts. 

Santa’s Science Lab
Santa will join the us at the Town Hall Main Stage for a holiday science experiment, exploring the chemistry of candy canes.  

Mingle with Kris Kringle  
Santa will make scheduled roaming appearances throughout the Museum. 

All-Day Activities: 

  • Winter Nature Walk: Explore the natural world in winter by investigating pinecones, evergreen branches and other seasonal nature items. 
  • Holiday Scavenger Hunt: Search the Museum for hidden holiday objects and receive a prize when you find them all.
