DESCRIPTION:All Museum events and activities are free with admission. \nBack to School with Pete: This month\, we are preparing to go back to school as we explore science\, technology\, engineering\, art\, and math through hands-on fun! Each activity is designed to spark curiosity and build key skills to help kids gear up for back-to-school success with a special guest\, Pete the Cat! Pete the Cat will host a Back-to-School Big Fun every day at 4:15 p.m.!   \nSpecial Programs\nJoin us for fun themed activities during the week all month long.   \nAugust 1 – 11: Math Magic: Make math appear like magic! Kids will explore hidden numbers\, shapes\, and patterns using white crayons and watercolor paints. As they brush color over the paper\, math problems and geometric designs are revealed before their eyes!\nStory Time (11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.): Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes by James Dean and Eric Litwin  \nAugust 12 – 18: Silly Sensory: Things are about to get silly! Kids will explore textures and colors as they create their own sensory bags to squish and squeeze. This hands-on activity is perfect for building fine motor skills in a calming\, playful way. \nStory Time (11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.): Pete the Cat’s Got Class by: James Dean   \nAugust 19 – 25: Tech Time: Ever wonder what’s inside your favorite gadgets? Children will become mini engineers as they safely disassemble old electronics to explore the parts and pieces that make them work. This hands-on activity sparks curiosity and offers a fascinating peek into the world of technology!\nStory Time (11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.): Pete the Cat and the New Guy by Kimberly and James Dean  \nAugust 26 – 31: Shear Genius: Get ready to snip\, clip\, and cut with confidence! We’ll read Scissors on Strike by Jenifer Jones and learn all about safe scissor skills. Then\, children will practice their cutting techniques on a variety of materials like play dough\, slime\, and toilet paper rolls.\nStory Time (11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.): Pete the Cat: The Wheels on the Bus by Kimberly and James Dean  \nGet Museum Admission

In this Messy Member Morning\, we’ll explore motion and art by creating stunning pendulum paintings. Experiment with gravity and rhythm as you bring your artwork to life!  \nAugust 15\nCountdown to Kindergarten\n4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.\nHelp your child launch into their future at Countdown to Kindergarten\, a FREE family event dedicated to helping rising Kindergarteners prepare for their first day of school!  \nAugust 1\, 8\, 15\, and 29\nBellaBallerina Dance Party!\n12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.\nBellaBallerina is a literacy-based dance studio that caters to ages 18 months to 10 years old. They use story integration and imagination to teach most of our dance classes so students can get used to creating imaginative worlds\, learn dance in a nurturing environment\, and have fun!  \nDaily Programs  \nPuppet Show\n9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.\nThe Shell Games: Visit the wonderful world of Miranda the Mermaid and her underwater friends. Join them on this fun-filled adventure as they explore the wonders of the ocean!  \nScience Show\n10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.\nJoin us at the Town Hall all month for an adventure in science. Predict\, observe\, and experiment with different topics.  From color-mixing to chemical reactions\, our Science Show is sure to instill curiosity in our little scientist.   \nBig Fun with Pete the Cat\n4:15 p.m.\nBig Fun is the time of the day when children and adults move and groove to three of our favorite songs.
