From cardboard construction to magnetic creations\, this month encourages hands-on exploration\, teamwork\, and creative problem-solving.  \nBoxopolis: A Creative Cardboard City | Every Day in Create\nEach day\, guests will help design and build a collaborative cardboard city that will continue growing all month long. Children can create buildings\, roads\, parks\, vehicles\, landmarks\, and other community features while learning about teamwork\, engineering\, and city design. As the month progresses\, families will be able to revisit the city to see how the community has expanded and changed over time.  \nDaily Special Programs\nFloat your Boat\nUse floating blocks and other tools at the water table to design and create your own floating city structures! As you build\, test\, and redesign your creations\, explore concepts like balance\, buoyancy\, and engineering through hands-on water play!  \nIt’s Electric\nWhen building houses\, one must have electricity! Electricity powers almost everything we do from lights and computers to the darkest corners of your home. In this demo\, we will discover how electricity travels through wires to create a circuit of power that can bring light to all parts of a structure.   \nGiant Building\nCan you build something HUGE? Use giant Magna-Tiles to create towers\, castles\, tunnels\, and anything else you can imagine. Work together\, test your ideas\, and see how big you can build!  \nPlumbing 101\nEver wonder about the magic that brings water to taps and makes toilets flush with a simple push? Plumbing is like a giant puzzle where pipes\, taps and drains all work together to ensure water flows smoothly throughout the house!  \nStorytime | 11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.\nSticking with our theme of building\, we will be reading different books that explore themes that will inspire your builders. Grab your pencils\, rulers\, and markers and become an architect for the day! DESCRIPTION:Sensory-friendly hours are now monthly and will continue on the first Sunday of every month from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.\nWe’ve crafted these low-sensory hours for children with sensory sensitivities and special needs to enjoy the Museum’s hands-on exhibit spaces and explore in a calmer\, quieter environment. \nWe invite all children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)\, Sensory Processing Disorders and vision or hearing impairments and their caregivers to interact with our experiences. \nDuring your visit to the Museum\, families can check out sensory backpacks with noise-canceling headphones\, sensory-friendly toys and manipulatives. \n*Backpacks are available on a first-come\, first-served basis with limited supplies. This experience is included in Museum Admission.  \nGET MUSEUM ADMISSION
