Kids will get hands-on with a Van de Graaff machine to see how static electricity works and discover what causes nature’s loudest booms.\nStory time (11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.): A Party for Clouds: Thunderstorms by Belinda Jensen  \nJune 10 – 16: Hurricane Science: Dive into the swirling world of hurricanes as we create our very own storm in a bowl! Kids will learn how these powerful storms form and what makes them spin\, all through a fun hands-on experiment.  \nStory time (11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.): Drop: An Adventure Through the Water Cycle by Emily Kate Moon  \nJune 17 – 23: Wild Winds: In this tornado engineering challenge\, kids will design and build structures with boxes – then put them to the test to see if they can stand strong against the winds. Can your building pass the test?\nStory time (11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.): When the Wind Stops by Charlotte Zolotow  \nJune 24 – 30: Sun Science: Discovery the sunny side of science as we explore how rainbows are made! Join us in our I CAN Create space to use your imagination to transform urban spaces into a more playful world with different Lego Challenges! World Day of Play raises awareness about how play is central to every child’s development and well-being. Check out more info here!    \nJune 13\, 20\, 27: BellaBallerina Dance Party!: 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.  \nBellaBallerina is a literacy-based dance studio that caters to ages 18 months to 10 years old. They use story integration and imagination to teach most of our dance classes so students can get used to creating imaginative worlds\, learn dance in a nurturing environment\, and have fun!  \nJune 14: Drums 4 Life:  9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.  \nDrums 4 Life was started to give individuals and groups the opportunity to experience the benefits and healing of the drum. D4L was founded in the New York Tri-state area and moved to the Charlotte community in 2008. D4L primarily uses jembe drums\, doundoun drums\, and shekeres during sessions. D4L Instructors are all drummers and dancers from the family-based professional troupe SOUNDS OF AFRIKA 3G.    \nJune 14: Bach to Rock: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. \nJoin us at the Town Hall stage to learn about music with Bach to Rock! Come Rock Out with us during their Rock City class.  \nJune 15: Father’s Day (self-guided activity)  \nMake your way to the Art Studio to craft a special Father’s Day card! Celebrate the amazing dads and caregivers in your life with a handmade card filled with love and creativity.  \nDaily Programs  \nPuppet Show: 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.\nTortoise and the Hare: Does slow and steady always win the race? Join us for this exciting puppet show to find out who wins the race and see some familiar fairytale characters  \nScience Show: 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. \nJoin us at the Town Hall all month for an adventure in science. Predict\, observe\, and experiment with different topics.  From color-mixing to chemical reactions\, our Science Show is sure to instill curiosity in our little scientist.   \nBig Fun (15 minutes before closing)   \nBig Fun is the time of the day when children and adults move and groove to three of our favorite songs.
